One Down, One to Go...
I am just tickled pink with myself! I finished my sock at class last week. I really did try to finish the second one this past weekend, but I had a blow out as I was closing up the toe. I went to tighen up the Kitcher (sp?) stitch and something went horribly wrong. The left sock is now at the Knitting Corner having some repairs. Sue was nice enough to fix it for me. She called yesterday to ask me what on earth happened. I have no idea, but thankfully she said she picked it out and then ripped it out and fixed it. I am so thankful to more experienced knitters who just shake their heads and then do their thing. I am not worthy, I am not worthy, but my cute sock was!! This weekend the pair will be reunited for some serious cold piggie time on my floors!

This is the side view of the first sock at class. I am just smitten with my new creation. I am so excited that I finished the set that there is another set on the needles right now!!

Here is the first of two new piggie warmers. I hate wearing shoes even in the winter. So these will get worn until I just can't use them anymore. Thanks Sue! I am now a sock addict. Can you hear the great sock sound in my wallet?

PS. I am really sorry about my comments section. I had five comments to publish today and only one did. I have no idea who the others were who commented except for Maureen who tried to post twice. I have turned off the moderation thingy so hopefully that won't happen again. If those of you who commented on the last post could post again, that would be great. Thanks, and again I am sorry that the comments didn't post.

heheh!!! I love your excitement over the socks. I've knit several pair of socks but none have been for myself (yet). I do have a pair very near to completion that ARE FOR ME.... they're just not finished yet cause... you know... I'm working on stuff for someone else right now. Sheesh. I'll never learn.

Laura, I really don't have anyone else to knit for. Hubby wears cowboy boots almost everyday and wears boot socks. We figured out that it would be nearly $50 for one pair. So, since socks for me cost under $20...well get the message! lol! He will just have to settle for store bought boot socks. My oldest son lives in San Diego and he doesn't take care of his things, so you know he's not getting anything from me for a while. I did do him a scarf but that's it. It's probably laying on the floor of his apartment right now. My youngest is even worse. EVERYTHING he owns is on the floor. So he's off the list too. My mother is allergic to wool and that just leaves the four dogs. So it's all about ME. lol! I am doing a shawl for a Sr. Citzen in the local VA home to donate via my local Knitting Guild.

Looks great! You got the fit just right. Enjoy them. Soon you'll have a drawer full of hand knitted socks.

Beautiful green sock. I wondered what you were up to... so quiet for all those days. :) I'm moving right along on starlight... I'll post photos tomorrow.

Woo HOO! Great sock! That has to be Austermann step, right?

There's a Kitchener tutorial on my blog, if that will help you. It's easy once you get the hang of it!

Christine, I don't know what the Austermann step is. I know the woman who designed the sock and I could ask her. Honestly, I don't have a clue. I will look at the tutorial about the Kitchener. I did it correct in class but when I got to the second sock something went really wrong!!
