Done, Done, Done
I haven't been posting because I wanted to show some finished projects. I have been using my time wisely, I think. I bought myself some sock forms so that the pictures of my finished socks look much nicer than just laying around. I have four dogs, so laying a pair of socks anywhere in the house in an invitation for disaster.

Here are my two latest finished projects. This person beat me to getting this one done! I didn't tell her that I was making one and sure enough she has already started hers and it's done. Looks pretty good!

This is my Clapotis. I finished it the other day and I am so glad that I did and it's done. This is pretty much mindless knitting. I like that kind of knitting while I am knitting socks. I don't have to think very much. It did give me some fits, but as usual when I frogged it I had forgotten to kfbl so that was totally my fault. It doesn't cover as much on my back and I thought it would but I didn't make it any larger than the pattern called for. So for some of you larger gals like me, you might want to add some extra rows in there so that it hits your waist. I did wash and dry it and decided not to block it. I just use it while sitting in my chair at night so no need to fuss with blocking. I did knit most of the hat this weekend and decided that it was a bit too large for me. I am not a huge hat person, so I am thinking that I will just frog it and use the left over skein for a hat of another kind to give away. It was a learning experience.
I have had these finished for a while but wanted to take a picture of them with the new sock forms. I never did get all the strips to match but it's close enough.

So this is it for now. I am working on two other pairs of socks and will be starting another pair in a week or so. This may be my summer for socks. We'll see.

Clapotis is gorgeous!!! Don't block it. It's looks perfect just as it is.

The socks are very nice too! I can tell I need to buy some sock blockers. It really helps to show off the sock for pictures.

I really wanted it more flat to cover my area when wearing it, but after wearing for a week not, I think I will leave it alone.

I have looked at so many other blogs that have had the sock blockers and have wanted them. I really like the wooden ones but these from Fiber Trends are just fine for the time being. I wanted them just for blog shots. They are so neat. I just hang them up when they aren't in use. I really like them.

Clapotis is a great pattern. Yours looks lovely--I'm sure you will enjoy it. I'm admiring/envying your socks. Nice colors, and the stripes look great to me. Now that I've tried knitting on those tiny sock needles, I admire them even more.

Luni, I just came from leaving you a comment too. How funny!

Socks are great. I see how you make such wonderful sweaters for yourself but I think my thing will be socks. I have more sock and lace yarn than anything else. I like them because they are a pretty quick project and don't require a huge time committment and they are portable. I drag them to the knit-ins and places where I have to sit. I am hoping to get better at making them.

I like the clapotis, in fact I'm very partial to mindless knitting :) But I love the socks! Great stripes (nobody will notice from a galloping horse anyway) in great colors.

I have no idea how any knitter can NOT have some mindless knitting project on the needles at any given time. I am working on a new project that I had thought would be mindless, but I have ripped it back at least 10 times in the last two days. So much for mindless...

I really would love to have a matching pair of sock just to see if I can do it. I will keep trying. I think the art in getting them to match is how you roll the two balls. I knit two socks at once. So, maybe if I paid closer attention I could get those stripes to do what I want...mabye...

(answering the comment you left me)
I have wanted to knit the Supernova, I have the IK it is in, but the motifs at the neck are in 1x1 ribbing--I hate doing 1x1 ribbing! And it never ocurred to me that maybe the reason I kept going back to that pattern is that the sweater is green. That explains it! Oh, and you can e mail instead of leaving comments if you just want to send me an off-topic message, look at my profile for the link.
