And the Winners are...

...my happy cold feet. I finished my second pair of socks using the same pattern as the first pair. I am going to do more using this pattern because it's such a quick simple knit and I don't have to keep track of too much row by row stuff. I have the yarn for the second pair and I will have them on the needles probably this coming weekend. I am about to finish my latest project but don't want to start anything else until I get it done.

Here is a better picture showing that I did the heels and toes with extra reinforcement yarn in a teal blue to compliment the rest of the sock. I just love the way they look. I have to say because they are a blend, they aren't as soft as the wool I used in the last pair. What is the funniest about them; is they make a pat-pat sort of sound on the flooring when I wear them. The wool socks made no sound at all. I have no idea why they make that sound. Maybe after I wash them that will change. Does anyone else know what I mean?

Curious, now I'm going to have to try on all my socks and search for the elusive pitter patter of my own feet. They look great!

The heels and toes look good! I think they will soften when they are washed. I never noticed my socks making any kind of sound.

Vickie,
The previous comment is from me. I just noticed I was logged in under a different account after it published.

Mebeth-I have no idea why they made that sound. I had not washed them when I pitter pattered down the steps in the hallway. Just sounded really odd to me. I was wondering if it could be the sizing? I have them in the laundry and will try them again.

WW-I am hoping to learn a new method for reinforcement for the toes and heels. They are pretty thick and I really have to work hard to get them into my shoes. I might have to go to a 1/2 size to have enough room. Now that I have made my own socks, I just might refuse to wear anything else!

I love them! Lovely yarn choice. Interesting about the sound. Let us know what happens after you wash them!

Leigh, I have washed them twice now and they don't make that sound anymore. I know everyone thinks I have lost my mind but I swear they made a sort of crunching sound. Very weird. I am making another pair with that same brand of yarn so maybe the second pair will do the same thing. I hope so or I am going to think that I am going nuts!
